Our Journey: A Veteran-Owned Legacy of Resilience

Doo Rag Nation has a unique, poignant history fueled by a deep commitment to integrity.

Our story began in 2013 when Janice Backus founded “Chickenlady Head Wraps.” Tragically, Janice passed away just months after launching. In 2014, U.S. Army Veteran Nathaniel W. Bragg Jr. breathed new life into the business as “Rockin Head Wraps,” driven by a mission that extended far legs beyond just selling headwear. When tragedy struck again and Nathaniel passed away later that year, his wife, Melanie, took the helm. She rebranded the business as Doo Rag Station to honor her late husband’s memory.

In September 2017, we officially became Doo Rag Nation. Our very first sales venture supported a fundraiser for the homeless at the 6th Annual Capital City Bikefest in Tallahassee, Florida. Today, we continue to grow, evolve, and connect with remarkable individuals like you.
